Bobble Dunk is a 2-player arcade basketball game. Two big-headed players stay on their own half, jump, and shoot the ball up and across into the hoop on the far side. A basket counts only when the ball drops through the rim from above. First to eleven wins. Play a friend on one keyboard or take on the computer.
It is a self-built game made by PlayClick, our own take on the arcade sports format, using the same physics engine as our other Bobble Sports games. It is not affiliated with any other basketball game or brand. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and no download, so it plays the same on a school Chromebook as at home.
How to play
Each player guards their own half and shoots at the hoop on the opposite side. Move under the ball, jump, and press shoot to send it up in a high arc toward the rim. The shot leaves at a steeper angle than a soccer kick, so it is all about the arc.
A basket only counts when the ball passes down through the rim from above. Clank it off the front of the rim or hit it from underneath and it will not score, which is what makes the timing satisfying. Use the backboard behind each rim to bank tricky shots in.
After each basket the ball resets to the middle with a short countdown. First to eleven baskets takes the game. Because a jumping shot adds your leap to the ball, a well-timed jump from near the middle gives you the cleanest look at the rim.
Controls and modes
Player 1 uses A and D to move, W to jump, and S to shoot. Player 2, in two-player mode, uses the arrow keys to move and jump and the down arrow to shoot. On a phone, on-screen buttons appear at the bottom corners so you can play with no keyboard.
In one-player mode you face the computer at Easy, Medium, or Hard. Easy is a relaxed shoot-around, while Hard tracks the ball quickly and contests your shots, so you will need clean arcs and the backboard to pull ahead.
Two-player mode puts you and a friend on one keyboard racing to eleven. Switch modes or difficulty any time, and hit rematch after a win.
Tips to win
Shoot on the way up. A jumping shot adds your upward speed to the ball, so releasing near the top of your jump gives the ball the height it needs to clear the rim and drop in.
Learn the backboard. Banking the ball off the board behind the rim turns a lot of near misses into baskets, especially from a steeper angle near the middle line.
On defense, you cannot block across the middle, but you can crowd your own rim and knock a settling ball away before it drops. Deny the easy put-back and force the other side to reset for a fresh arc.
Questions and answers
What is Bobble Dunk?
It is a 2-player arcade basketball game where two big-headed players jump and shoot a ball through the hoop. A basket counts only on a clean drop through the rim. First to eleven wins. It is PlayClick's own game, not affiliated with any other basketball game or brand.
How does scoring work?
The ball has to pass down through the rim from above. Shots that clank off the front of the rim or come up from underneath do not count. Use the backboard behind each rim to bank tougher shots in.
Can I play two players or on my phone?
Yes. Pick 2 Players to share one keyboard, Player 1 on A, D, W, S and Player 2 on the arrow keys. On a touch screen, on-screen buttons appear at the bottom corners so you can play with no keyboard.
Is it free and does it work unblocked?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs fully in your browser, so it plays the same on a school or work network as anywhere else. There is nothing to download or install.
